Anchorware Everywhere

While on a trend hunt, we found a store called Substance. It was the perfect place to pull inspiration for textures and patterns. Although they don’t sell housewares, they hand craft clothing in the store (which we deemed as pretty cool). Their colors and material choice are something to admire, but the way they store their ribbons and buttons we just couldn’t help but share. They have a collection of our cracker jars to hold their notions.

Substance is a store in the Short North area of Columbus, Ohio. They have a wide selection of hand crafted, sustainable and designer wears. Their website is www.shopsubstance.com, where you can also find their blog.

Trend Watch - Vintage Birds

Posted by AK on Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Recently, I was at a resale shop in the Columbus downtown area and found these vintage British bird book plates someone was selling and the notion of vintage birds got me thinking how that would be an excellent decorated glass.
Here are a few finds that caught my eye while I was looking up vintage birds. Looks like a few people are selling real vintage bird illustrations and nick knacks on Etsy. I also was amazed to find the number of retro styled vintage bird art that was being talked about on blogs.
Lastly, I was even more surprised to find that Anchor used to make Fire-King milk glass bird coffee cups. A few others and myself headed to the archives and found the actual glasses and from there I set out recreating these little gems. But, I thought I would share my inspiration and I will keep you updated on the vintage birds.

Pantry Storage

Anchorware Everywhere
One of  the things that we love about our consumers is that they find clever ways to solve their household storage issues. We've seen our jars used in so many ways, but we still can't get enough of seeing pictures of their storage solutions.

Writer of the Sweet Tea & Lemon blog loves using various sizes of our cracker jars to organize her pantry. "These Anchor-Hocking jars were next on my list.  I filled t hem with all of my baking supplies and marked them accordingly.  I can’t help it.  I hate the look of packaged food." Read more from her blog at Sweet Tea & Lemon.

This is a photo that was sent to me from my friends Dennis and Sarah. It is a decorated café mug that anchor developed with William Sonoma. When empty the snowflakes on the other side of the mug frame the male deer head that is shown in the photo.
