Are my Anchor Hocking products guaranteed?

Anchor Hocking bakeware products do carry written warranties:

  • Premium, Laurel Embossed™, Fire King®  bakeware: 10-year Limited warranty
  • Oven basics, Essentials, Embrace, Heritage™ bakeware: 5-year Limited warranty
  • Food storage: 5-year Limited warranty

Are Anchor Hocking products lead, cadmium, and heavy metal free?

Yes, and also CA Prop 65 compliant.

Are your plastic lids BPA free?

Yes, and also CA Prop 65 compliant.


Are Anchor Hocking products dishwasher safe?

The majority of our product offering is dishwasher safe. Please reference the Care & Use statements for each product. 


How do I clean my Anchor Hocking glass bakeware?

Clean with plastic or nylon non-scratch pad or cleaners. Wash your Anchor Hocking glass in detergent and water. For stubborn, baked-on food, soak glass and then use non-scratch cleaners and scrub pad intended for glass ovenware. Dishwasher safe.


What is the highest baking temperature that can be used with baking dishes?

425° F / 218° C


Can I add liquid to my dish if my food becomes dry?

No. Avoid severe temperature changes and do not add liquid to a hot dish. Prior to cooking foods that may release liquid, add liquid to the dish making sure it covers the bottom of the dish. 


Can Anchor Hocking bakeware be used on top of the stove, grill, toaster oven, or under a broiler?

No. Not for use under a flame or other direct heat source.


Can I take my baking dish out of the oven and place it directly on my countertop or table?

No. Avoid severe temperature changes and never place hot glass on a wet or cold surface. Place a hot dish on a dry cloth, potholder or trivet.


How can I ensure my glass dish is bakeware and can be used in the oven and microwave?

Look on the bottom of the glass item. It will state oven and/or microwave safe. If this is not listed, the product is not bakeware and should not be used in the oven or microwave.

*Exception to the above are the 6-ounce and 10-ounce custard cups. The cups do not have this listed but are oven and microwave safe.


Are my Anchor Hocking Prep Bowls safe for oven and microwave use?

Look on the bottom of the bowl. If it states oven and/or microwave safe, it can be used in your oven and microwave. The sizes of our oven and microwave safe Prep Bowls are; 1.5-quart, 2.5-quart, 3.5-quart, and 4-quart.  


If your Prep Bowls are the smaller sizes (1-ounce, 2-ounce, 4-ounce, 6- ounce 10- ounce bowls), they will not list oven and microwave safe and are not for this usage.


Additionally , the insert that surrounds out 10-piece bowl set at the time of purchase lists the usage for each bowl by icons.

Can Anchor Hocking bakeware go directly from the refrigerator to the microwave or conventional oven?

Yes, we recommend the oven be pre-heated no higher than 425° F or 218 C.


Can I use Anchor Hocking Bakeware in the microwave?

Anchor Hocking bakeware is microwave safe, however, you should avoid heating empty to nearly empty glassware in the microwave. Do not overheat oil, butter, or other fats in the microwave as they quickly reach the desired temperature. Heat only for the recommended time for your microwave (refer to your microwave owner's manual ).


Does my bakeware need to rotate if using in the microwave?

Yes. Only use glass bakeware in an oven properly sized to allow clearance from side walls and door. Use microwaves with a working turn-table or turn manually at regular intervals during cooking. 


Can Anchor Hocking bakeware go directly from the freezer to the microwave or conventional oven?

No, let foods thaw before cooking or reheating in the microwave or oven.


Can Anchor Hocking bakeware be used in a Convection Oven?

Yes, as long as the convection oven has a fan and the temperature does not exceed 425° F.


What would cause my Anchor Hocking Bakeware to break?

Can I use my plastic lids in the oven?



Are my plastic lids microwaveable?

Yes, plastic covers are microwave safe for reheating purposes. CAUTION: When microwaving, to prevent steam build up, a gap is required between the cover and glass. Sealing the cover may create excessive pressure causing the cover to melt, warp or cause personal injury. Do not reheat foods for longer than 60-seconds. Once reheating is complete, remove cover from dish to prevent warping. After removing item from microwave always open cover away from your body to avoid steam burns. Covers not intended for conventional oven, stovetop, broiler, or toaster oven use. Lid fit may vary. Covers are not leak proof.

Are my plastic lids dishwasher safe?

Yes, top rack only.


Why did the handle on my measuring cup become very hot?

Do not allow glass to come into contact with the interior sides of the oven or microwave which could cause localized overheating of glass or handle. Follow all warnings and instructions in your microwave owner's manual.


Can I use my Anchor Hocking measuring cup to melt wax for candle making?

No. Our glass measuring cups are intended for cooking use only as noted on the bottom of our measuring cups.


Does Anchor Hocking offer Plant Tours?

No, due to safety regulations we are unable to offer Plant Tours.


Does Anchor Hocking have a Museum?

Anchor Hocking products are widely displayed at the Ohio Glass Museum in Lancaster, Ohio.
