Anchor Hocking Announces Significant Investment in and Expansion of its Manufacturing and Distribution Facilities
Columbus, OH – For over a century, Anchor Hocking has been synonymous with American craftsmanship. Founded in 1905, the company has produced high quality glass products in the United States through world wars, economic upheavals, and increasing global competition, never wavering in its commitment to American workers and the communities they sustain. Today, Anchor Hocking is writing the next chapter of that legacy with investments of up to $70 million in its U.S. operations.
The center piece of the investment is the installation of a new furnace in the company’s Lancaster, OH facility, resulting in a modern three-furnace operation. The new furnace is expected to be operational in the first half of 2026. The company will also continue to make investments in its distribution capabilities in Lancaster as well as in its manufacturing and distribution facilities in Corning and Elmira in upstate
New York and its facility in Byhalia, MS.
The expansion will result in more than 200 new union jobs across the company’s locations. With more
than 1,700 employees already working across its U.S. facilities, the company’s expansion represents one of the largest growth commitments in its 119-year history.
“As the country gets ready to celebrate its birthday, we are pleased to announce this significant investment in American manufacturing. With the recent policies and announcements by the current administration under the leadership of President Trump, we will feel confident that now is the right time to invest in the American worker,” said Mark Eichhorn, Chief Executive Officer. “For decades the American glass industry has been declining and underinvesting in its facilities due to significant headwinds from overseas competition, that benefited from cheaper energy costs and less regulation. As a result, many glass manufacturing facilities in the U.S. today are struggling. This investment looks to reverse that trend. It will lead to significant operational efficiencies and will allow us to continue to provide a high-quality product made in America at competitive prices to our customers and the American consumer.”
Anchor Hocking’s products and that of its partners can be found in millions of households, all major retail and grocery stores and many food service establishments across the country.
